Thumbs up Stand21 Porsche Factory Driving Suits - Available!

For those of you who may be interested, Stand21 has renewed their relationship with the Porsche factory teams and is once again supplying driving suits, gloves and shoes to Porsche. You may have seen my earlier post about Circuit Prenois and my tour of the Stand21 factory while I was in Dijon last month. Apparently, Stand21 had just concluded their negotiations with Porsche and has started to offer a line of "Porsche" logo'ed items like gloves, nomex shirts, etc...

But the really fun thing is that they are now offering to us mere mortals the chance to purchase the Porsche factory suits worn a few years ago - the ones with the blue Le Mans swirl on them. I ordered mine while there at the factory and it arrived yesterday. It's a custom fitted ST3000 suit and I love it! They only allow specific customizations such as your name on the belt and your country's flag. It's not cheap, but I really like it! I also got some Porsche gloves (the new 3-layer Daytona glove offered by Stand21) in black and blue colors. The guys at the factory are really nice people and they go out of their way to help you. I also picked up my new helmet and a HANS device. It was an expensive visit, but well worth it.

Here are some pictures so you know what I'm talking about. If you want one of these, contact Kim Harmon (kharmon21@bellsouth.net), the Stand21 rep here in the US.

By the way, I am in no way associated with Stand21, other than being a very satisfied customer.

Around $2400. 3 week delivery from the factory. And it's a custom fitted suit, not an "off-the-rack" item. Stand21 retains your measurements in case you need to acquire another one. Each suit is made in about 300 minutes. Full FIA certification.

Stock options are a handy thing sometimes! And yes, they were all legal with NO backdating. I'm too far down the totem pole for anyone to backdate options for me!

Katie,

Thanks! I really like it. I can't say enough good things about the Stand21 folks. Yes, they are pricey, but IMHO the quality justifies the price.

It looks perfect for all those podium photo shoots I've heard about..... Unfortunately, I'd never remember to take it off before I start to work on my car.....

Funny you should say that..... I bought the F21 Airforce helmet. As with my suit, I love the helmet! Here's a picture of my F21. The gentleman to my left (in the picture is Yves Morizot, the President of Stand21).
